FREESTYLE SESSION SCHEDULE

Freestyle sessions are designed for skaters to practice advanced figure skating maneuvers and routines. These sessions are not recommended for recreational skaters.
Private lessons are available during all Freestyle sessions.

On December 16, 2011 Brewster Ice Arena hosted a seminar conducted by Igor Shpilband, a world-renowned, Olympic-level figure skating/ice dance coach and choreographer. Mr. Shpilband came to us from Michigan, where he coaches numerous international-level ice dancers. This past year he and his coaching partner Ms. Marina Zueva were recipients of the PSA Coach of the Year Award. Coaches from our rink and as far as 1.5-hours away from the Tri-State area participated in the event. During the seven-hour long seminar Mr. Shpilband shared with us his knowledge of basic and advanced skating techniques as well as skating exercises acquired during his skating and coaching careers. All participants truly enjoyed the seminar and everyone left the rink inspired. We are now ready to pass the experience onto our skaters. We greatly appreciate the opportunity we were afforded thanks to Mr. Shpilband's visit as well as the support from the Brewster Ice Arena Management.
