The Brewster Ice Arena, named one of the New York Rangers' Premier Partner rinks, is a proud participant in the Future Rangers developmental hockey program.  This program is designed for boys & girls, aged 4-10, who are beginners to the sport of hockey.  The class stresses basic fundamental skating and hockey skills needed to succeed in the game.

Learn to Skate
  • - Learn the basic skills required to skate
  • - Create and refine basic motor patterns
  • - Focus on basic skating skills; starting, stopping, turning and balance.
Learn to Play Hockey
  • - Learn the basic skills required to skate and play the game of hockey
  • - Develop an understanding of basic teamwork and game concepts
  • - Have fun while playing hockey and engaging in physical activity
  • - Be introduced to the core values of cooperation, fair play, and sportsmanship
  • - Focus on basic hockey skills; skating, puck handling, passing and shooting.

Participants Receive

  • - Expert instruction from our coaching staff that has been trained by the New York Rangers organization
  • - An official Future Rangers jersey
  • - A certificate of achievement at the conclusion of the program
  • - A once-per-year visit from a New York Rangers alumnus
